Landscapes

It is no secret that my landscapes are indebted to Hockney, inspired by the same warm, bright colours of California. While I will always keep that Fauvist humour of colour, the move back to my native Ireland has endowed my palette with rustic tones, more akin to my surrounding countryside.

I feel that the intense colour of my work invites the viewer in, letting them journey through the landscape and across the canvas. My play of perspective and distance both reassures the viewer with spatial depth and simultaneously confuses the eye, making that journey all the more exciting.
